Fundraising

Each student is given a sufficient opportunity to raise all of the funds necessary for participation in the mandatory Band Trip and a possible off-campus Band Camp. Fundraising is not required, but is encouraged; students always have the right to pay outright the cost of the Band Trip.

Students will be told in advance the expected profit of the fundraiser — typically 40% or higher — and will also be able to track their accumulating fundraising totals on a posted Master List in the band room or online.

If you have any questions regarding fundraisers, please contact Angie Hart.

Checks

Please make checks payable to South Allegheny Band. Thank you!

Types of Fundraisers

Student - Profits made from a this type of fundraiser go into the individual's account.

Band Parent - Profits go into a general fund. These fundraisers are just as important as, if not more than, Student fundraisers, because they help to drastically reduce the cost that each student must raise individually.

Note

Because of several problems with NSF (Insufficient Funds) checks recently, we strongly encourage you to collect all money for fundraisers in the form of cash or money order. If cash payments are made, you may deposit the money into your account and send in one check made payable to SABP if you desire. Any checks which you receive that are made payable to SABP will not be turned away but if we can lessen the amount of checks received, hopefully this will cut back on NSF checks. If you have an NSF check for any reason, you will be given 7 days notice to repay the money and the NSF fee in cash or money order to Band parents. Any NSF check not made good will be deducted from student accounts after 7 days, along with NSF fees. It is unfortunate that we have to address this issue but please be reminded that this is not Band parent money, it is all money for the students. Thanks!
