Each student is given a sufficient opportunity to raise all of the funds necessary for participation in the mandatory Band Trip and a possible off-campus Band Camp. Fundraising is not required, but is encouraged; students always have the right to pay outright the cost of the Band Trip.
Students will be told in advance the expected profit of the fundraiser — typically 40% or higher — and will also be able to track their accumulating fundraising totals on a posted Master List in the band room or online.
If you have any questions regarding fundraisers, please contact Angie Hart.
Please make checks payable to South Allegheny Band. Thank you!
We are selling a variety of candy bars. Flavors are milk chocolate, crisp, almond, caramel, and pretzel crunch. Students may sign-up to receive cases in the band room no later than January 30th. Delivery will be February 7th. Each case is $32. Students who sign up for 3 or more cases must pre-pay for their cases.
We are selling items from Tabellini Gourmet Foods for delivery on Wednesday, February 22nd at 5pm. Order forms and money are due by Thursday, February 9th, 8am. Forms will be available in the band room beginning Monday, January 16th.
Some of the products for sale can be found on their website. Please do not contact Tambellini if you have any questions; instead, please get in touch with Angie Hart.
The band parents are selling raffle tickets now through February 26th. Each ticket contains two numbers. The winning number will be based on the Pennsylvania Lottery's evening Daily Number for March 17, 2012 (St. Patrick's Day). For just $5 per ticket, you have the chance to win $1,100!
This is a band parent fundraiser, so profits go into a general fund to support the band by, for example, reducing the cost students must pay individually for trips and other activities. The band member that sells the winning ticket will receive a $25 credit to their own individual fundraising account.
If you would like to purchase tickets or make arrangements for pickup to sell them, please contact either Mike Waskowitz at 412-773-1768 or Denise Digiacomo at 412-334-3920.
Any unsold tickets must be returned to Mike or Denise by Sunday, February 26th so there is time to attempt to sell the remaining tickets.
Student - Profits made from a this type of fundraiser go into the individual's account.
Band Parent - Profits go into a general fund. These fundraisers are just as important as, if not more than, Student fundraisers, because they help to drastically reduce the cost that each student must raise individually.
Because of several problems with NSF (Insufficient Funds) checks recently, we strongly encourage you to collect all money for fundraisers in the form of cash or money order. If cash payments are made, you may deposit the money into your account and send in one check made payable to SABP if you desire. Any checks which you receive that are made payable to SABP will not be turned away but if we can lessen the amount of checks received, hopefully this will cut back on NSF checks. If you have an NSF check for any reason, you will be given 7 days notice to repay the money and the NSF fee in cash or money order to Band parents. Any NSF check not made good will be deducted from student accounts after 7 days, along with NSF fees. It is unfortunate that we have to address this issue but please be reminded that this is not Band parent money, it is all money for the students. Thanks!
