Liberty Boro Memorial Day Stand Still

1:00 PM

Report to the memorial on Liberty Way (near the dairy store) by 1:00 PM. No Color Guard & Majorettes.

Band Banquet at Dave & Buster's

5:30 - 9:30 PM

High School Graduation

6:30 PM

Grades 8-11 report to the band room by 5:30 PM.

Drumline Rehearsal & Auditions

9:00 AM

Rehearsal: 9 - 11 AM. Auditions at 11 AM.

New Band Members Rehearsal

9 AM - noon

Uniform fitting for new members is June 13 from 6-8:30 pm. A $15 deposit and signed uniform contract is required; make checks payable to S.A. Band Parents.

Spring Concert DVDs

DVDs of the 2012 Spring Concert are ready! If you would like a copy, please bring in a blank 4.7GB single-layer DVD with your name on it to Ms. Humanic; she will make you a copy for free. If you don't have a blank DVD, fill out a payment envelope with $2.50 (with your name, date, amount paid, and "DVD" written in the fundraiser box) to receive a pre-made copy.

Band Parent Officers

Two new band parent officers were elected at the May 7th band parent meeting. Tracie Sekulich is taking over for Suzie Hallas, who is leaving after four years with the organization, as Vice President. Mike Shriane has been elected Treasurer in place of Barb Urban, who is stepping down from the position but will still be active in the organization. Contact information for all band parent officers can always be found on our Band Parents page.

Summer Schedule Updates

The Summer Schedule, which includes band camp dates and times, has been updated with sectional time slots.

Drumline auditions will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 11 AM, following rehearsal; see the monthly calendar for other drumline rehearsal dates.

The parade in Liberty Boro for Memorial Day has been canceled. Instead, the band will only play a stand-still performance at the memorial on Liberty Way. Students should now report to the memorial by 1:00 PM. Color guard and majorettes do not need to attend.

Several band students were presented with awards during our spring concert on May 3rd. We would like to extend our congratulations to the following students:

Band Banquet

This year's Band Banquet is May 30th at Dave & Buster's located at the Waterfront in Homestead. Festivities will be held between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Doors open at 5pm and the dinner will be served at 6pm.

Band students' evenings are paid for courtesy of the SA Band Parents. Their evening will include dinner during the banquet and game play in Dave & Buster's game room after the banquet has concluded.

The cost for each family member is $25.00 and that includes your buffet dinner as well as unlimited coffee, tea and soft drinks.

Letters have been sent to band members' parents/guardians. Please return the form at the bottom of the letter to SA Band Banquet c/o Shallas 320 Euclid Avenue, Glassport, PA 15045 with a check made payable to S.A.B.P. Inc. no later than May 23rd. (Please do not have the student take the form to school.) For your convenience you may also call Suzie (412-996-4828) or email her at shallas@saband.org and let her know how many will be attending and make payment at the door via exact cash amount or check. We hope you'll join us!
